New Studio up and running...

I'm writing to you all for the first time from my new studio! Everything is now almost unpacked and organised, just a little bit of chaos still about, but no more than average! As soon as I can spare some time, I will be getting lots of photos taken to share, of the new studio, my new painting area, and also of me! Now my hair is growing back fast, it's about time I update my biography photos to something more current :)

For now, onto the news and updates, because there's a lot of it!

Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle deck now in stock!

The beautifully produced Faery Oracle deck I created with Lucy Cavendish has been released, and I now have it in stock and available to purchase from my website! The deck is presented in a deluxe size box set, with 47 large cards and a 188 page guide book! Click the image below for more information or to purchase. New Competition

Lasts months competition, the "Be Selina's Model" competition has ended, and a new competition launched! The new competition is the beginning of an annual art competition I will hold. New Art

Two new paintings of mine released this month, both from the Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle deck!

New Sections, New Releases, and the return of some lost pages!

I've been clearing and sorting so much lately because of moving house, that I've decided to list a bunch of original paintings for sale. It's a collection of mostly older works, you can see them here- Original Art Sales. I also have a small amount of ceramic tiles available for custom printing on sale now in the Specials & Sales section. You can choose whichever artwork from my range you want for these! I will not be stocking ceramic art tiles for long, or as part of my main range, these are only while stocks last. While doing my web updates, I realised that during some of my big website updates recently I had managed to lose some pages, oops! I have put these pages back online now and updated them. The Gift Giving Ideas information page has returned, with some great tips for gift giving, as has the Last Chance Prints page, which now has 8 prints on sale that will soon be retired!

Lost original artwork?

After an enquiry from a customer, I went to find my original artwork of "Scared to Fly", but I could not find it. I couldn't find any record of having sold it... but did I? Was it during my chemo head days and I managed to both forget about it and not keep proper records (which is entirely likely while I was on chemo!)? Oh where could it beeeeee? Having just moved house shouldn't be an issue, there's only really 1 or 2 places my originals should be, and it's not there... I'm sort of hoping someone pops up and says that I did sell it to them. Curse my memory.

Back to work and now so much to do!

Well, today is my first semi-normal day again after moving, I guess. Most things are unpacked. There's some house work to catch up on, laundry and dishes, but just the norm.

I'm putting together my to-do lists for catching back up with business work, and they are getting bigger and bigger far too quickly, with some really difficult things to get done!

First thing I need to do is decide on a winner for my "Be my model" competition I had running last quarter. I received so many really wonderful entries, it's honestly going to be so hard to pick one.

I've got so many new things to add to my online store, updates and changes to be done. It's time to release my Faery Oracle deck for sale!

Also, very excitingly, I have two new artists about to be released into the Fairies and Fantasy online store! It's going to be such an awesome addition to the store, both their works are amazing! You'll get to find out exactly who they are very soon... ;)

I also have to get around to doing all my address changes. Yay for postal re-direction, but I still need to update with various institutions. I made it doubly tricky by changing a credit card as well, so I now need to get around changing those details places as well, ugh.

Anyhow, I am going to try and get through as much as possible today, because if I can get most of it all done.... I can paint tomorrow

New home, new studio, new energy.

I'm writing from my new home, in my new studio for the very first time! Still surrounded by boxes, but progress is going well. I'm hoping to be back in business by this afternoon! It's all so exciting, the studio is looking great! Actually, it kind of looked better empty, but I blame that on my magpies collection of furniture that I seem to appropriate from where-ever I can for free. I have ex-high school science lab tables, kitchen side boards, steel work shelves, bedside tables, and not a one thing matches another... but it works, and if it aint broke... no point spending money and sending usable furniture off to landfill just to have a consistent interior design ;)
But it's still nice in here. I've got all my printers almost set up now (missing some cables, where did I pack those?!), and just a bit of unpacking left to do of stock and tools. I actually have a room in the house I will use as my painting room, and keep all the order filling and manufacturing type work seperate from my creative space, which is very exciting for me. My painting room actually looks a lot nicer, I kept my favourite bits of furniture for in there :)
We're still finding more things around the house that just don't work, which is a bit disappointing (air conditioning unit, TV antenna, some light fittings), but it is still a beautiful house to wake up to in the mornings, birds calling outside, lovely light, trees all around. I will be getting photos online very soon :)
Anyway, I'm just getting my internet fix for the first time in a couple of days, and then back to unpacking and finding homes for everything!

Cancelling LoudTwitter feed, busy busy house stuff, etc

Just a quick post to say I'm cancelling the twitter feed coming through from twitter to here. It was kind of bugging me just seeing my journal full of twitter stuff, and not much else! I guess I've been too busy to do any real blogging for a while what with all the house moving work going on, , and I'm kind of over Twitter as well.

I've rediscovered FaceBook (they've made it better since I was on there last!), and their status update system is way better than twitter, so I'm kind of doing all my quick posts there now. After I am all moved to my new house and settled I will have to do a major overhaul of my various networking and blogging sites and get organised again!

I feel really behind with all my business stuff lately. Like I said, I've been flat out with house stuff for a while now. Since I got back from our holiday in Bali it's been non stop. Between dealing with real estate agents, conveyancers, banks etc to get the settlement through in the first place, then getting packing and things organised for the move, and as soon as I got keys to the new house I've been up there almost every day working on it flat out so I can get some major jobs done before moving in. My parents have been helping me so much too, we've gotten so much done! The house was in a bit of a state of disrepair, the man I bought from had a heart condition and had done NOTHING to the place for a couple of years it seems... so lots and lots of cleaning, paintings, pruning, gardening, sanding... there was ruined carpet and lino and broken tiles which we've ripped up to reveal floorboards underneath, which we're having someone come in and sand and polish. We've had other tradesmen in to fix doors and locks... the previous owner had a big nasty dog, and didn't feel the need to have ANY working locks throughout the property it seemed. We've completely knocked out two built in cupboards which were in stupid places and weren't necessary anyway, making a couple of rooms look so much nicer... moreso once we clean up the walls and re-paint where they were!

My outdoor studio is almost ready to move into, and it's looking so good. It was a bit of a mess too, we repatched so many holes in the walls, replacing the toilet cistern, fixing windows, and repainting in some really lovely colours- a very pale muted almost white, almost grey, almost brown purple for most, and then a rich pinkish metallic copper/bronze colour for a feature wall. I can't wait to get it all set up to work in!

Yep, much work to do! We've done heaps, and already improved the place so much, it's going to be so fantastic when it's done. I'll take photos when we're a bit more settled!

It's been magazine craziness lately! I so love to see my art in print, check out these newest additions to my collection...
Oh yes much more showing off of the cover artwork for the Faery Oracle deck in these articles, I think it's my current favourite!

USA- "The Faery Magazine" for their monthly "5 Questions" section.

Europe/UK- "ImagineFX" as part of their FXpose on traditional artists.

I realised a week or two ago I said I would take some photos to post of this... time is flying so fast at the moment, so much to do and so little of it and all!

So without further ado, here is the newest oracle deck from Blue Angel Publishing, The Wild Wisdom of the Fairy Oracle, written by the glorious Lucy Cavendish and illustrated, of course, by myself!

It's so beautifully published and boxed in a deluxe, larger size box. You can see the book is quite hefty, with so much great wisdom and insight from Lucy into the Faery realm, and lots of great ways to communicate with it, and of course how to use the cards!
You can see a peak of some new art here. The cover artwork, "Follow Me" will be released next month in celebration of the decks release! You can also see a tiny bit of my antlered girl, and the grail fairy at the front there is new as well (titled "Water of Life").
Anyway, I'm just so pleased with this deck, she's truly beautiful and magical. The artworks and writings emerged together into a deck with a very healing vibe. I hope to have the deck available and on sale as soon as I'm settled into my new home and studio, next month!

Moving sales continue...
Wow, I had such an insanely huge responce to the site wide buy one get one free sale, that I had to end it early! I was simply overwhelmed, and was so busy shipping orders I didn't have time to start packing for my move!
So I've decided to cut back the sale to a few items I particularly want to move before I move!

Journals Buy One Get One Free- Sale Information Here
These journals are big, heavy, and I order them in BULK! I just had a shipment in a couple of months ago, and the idea of moving 40 some boxes with me makes me twitch. So take advantage of this offer and help clear these out of my store room! These journals are great for gifts, or for every day use!

Oracle Card Decks Two for One offer!
I only have a very small amount of my self published Oracle Card decks and Fairy Philosophies decks left, maybe 10-15 of each deck? Less? I'm selling these out, because I have my new Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle deck being released very soon to replace them. So until sold out, these decks are buy one, get the other deck free!

Not enough Free Stuff for you??
Well, I have more! I've been cleaning, sorting and packing, and have dug up some interesting odds and ends, and put aside a collection of products I just need to get rid of! I've got ten stationery sets left over, three of the discontinued Impossible Love large format posters, A huge stack of retired A3 size art prints, a few ACEO's, small hardcover paper notebooks (no artwork on them), and a handful of 2006 calendars that I really need to get rid of. All of these are getting thrown into whatever parcel they fit in as freebies! As a special for fans and subscribers, I'm allowing you to make requests on these items when you place an order. If I havent already sent it off somewhere else, it's yours!

New Art
Two new artworks of mine have been released for sale this month. The first is Taliesin, the bard from celtic legend! He's a bit of a looker, if I may say so myself, and is the first painting I've completed for the next oracle deck I'm working on with Lucy Cavendish! I've also released another fairy from the Faery Oracle deck coming out soon, "Child of the Moon". This artwork is a remake of my older "Moon Child" fairy! I'll be releasing more fairies from this deck very soon, hopefully with the release of the deck itself!

Star Trek, was, AWESOME
One of the best movies I've seen for some time. It was just so cleverly constructed, brilliantly designed, directed, acted. Engaging all the way through. LOOOOOVVED IT! I'm going to see it again ASAP!
I used to watch a bit of the older series's and movies on and off as a kid, but it's been a long time, but it still felt like meeting old friends again. The casting was pure genious and the acting perfect- it wasn't like they just grabbed some pretty kids to be "new" Kirk, Spock, etc. They WERE young versions of the characters, you could see the older characters in them so much.
I won't give any spoilers or talk about the storyline except to say that I loved the things they kept and the changes they made to what I "knew" of Star Trek.
Oh, I watched the old Star Trek 2 movie before I saw the new one, which I think really helped get me up to speed, lol. If you have the chance to I recommend doing that too, but I don't think you'd need to at all to enjoy the movie... but you do get a few extra in jokes if you do!
