Choirs Set of Angels Finished!

Took me half a day longer than I planned... my target was to have them done so I could get my taxes up to date today!
I muffed up the background on one of them, and was somewhat unhappy with the backgrounds of all of them anyway, so I cut the pretty ladies out and put them on new digital backgrounds instead!

Full sized images of all four here!!! )

I'm now wondering if I should spend the rest of the day doing my last planned website update for the year, since I've only got half the day left... or if I should STOP PROCRASTINATING AND GET MY GORRAM ACCOUNTS UP TO DATE!!!!

New Angel Art- Nephilina

A while after I finished Cherubina the first in the set, here's Nephilina, and my target is to finish the other two this week as well!
Nephilim in the bible were a pre-flood race of "giants" born of men and fallen angels. Nephilim have made it into popular culture in a number of different forms, and for Nephilina here, I've simple taken the original angelic winged form, with a hint of darkness too her to suggest a hereditary of "fallen" angels, but all in all, it doesn't have much to do with religion or history or anything, I just like the name ^_^

New Painting

I'm working on doing a few more quick, fun, fairly simple paintings to get myself back into the swing of things. I'm having so much fun with dresses at the moment, I decided to do a set of angels much like my set of Fairy Queens.
This is Cherubina, and there is Seraphina, Angelina, and Nephilina on their way soon.

New painting- Winged Things

And today I painted.

This is a re-working of my Dragon Soul artwork... I'd been wanting to do a colour version of it for ages, but I could just never decide on colours for it as it was... there wasn't much to do, just all skin and stone. Adding the dress and wings made colouring this a lot easier. Since it's a bit different, I've given it it's own new title, "Winged Things".
I SO love red-heads... I should paint them more often!
I want to keep painting now! I've got sooooo many sketches and concepts waiting to be done, it's hard to decide where to start next.

New Mermaid Art

I decided to do a coloured version of Treasures, a graphite drawing I did ages ago.
About time I did some more mermaid art I thought!

My radiotherapy set up went well, it was all very quick and easy. They gave me six little tattoos by putting a drop of ink on me then stabbing me with a pin. I'm used to jabs now so it wasn't a problem, except the dots on the sides of my ribs, they tickled!! One of the dots is right in the middle of my chest just under my collar bones, and turned out to be the biggest and darkest of them all, yay. They should fade a little over time, but it's quite visible and black at the moment. The process was quite interesting, they have laser guide beams set up around the room that they shuffle you around by fractions to line you up with. The scanning machine was very cool too.
On a plus side, I got the appointment times for my treatments I wanted, 7am, first appointment of the day every day. I'm going to have to get used to getting up really early, but there should be less traffic at that time of day, no problem getting a park, no waiting for my appointment, and it will feel like I still have a full day afterwards. Shouldn't conflict too much with Davids work either, since we share a car.
Someone asked in my last post about radiotherapy about side affects of it compared to chemo, and from what the doctors say it should be a walk in the park compared to chemo. The only normal side affects are a little bit of fatigue, and a "sun burn" affect just on the area being treated which can vary in how bad it gets. There are a bunch of other nasty possible side affects, but lets keep our fingers crossed I won't have to worry about them. I'm almost looking forward to doing it... well, I'm really just looking forward to having finished chemo I think!!
Feeling much more positive now being so close to being done!

And Rainbow Wings!

And they're done!
Rainbow Wings was the youngest of the three sisters, and the main character in the stories I wrote when I was a kid. She was the most kind and pure, which is why the fairies gave her the present of the golden horseshoes that grant wishes.
^_^ I has enjoyed reliving my childhood with these!

I'm feeling super productive at the moment, if still a tiny bit nauseous. But this cycle I seem to have mostly skipped the aches stage and the crampy belly stage... awesome!
Now these are all done.... I've no more excuses to not start work on my accounts :(

New Art- Sunset

Two down, one to go. This is Sunset, she's the oldest of the three sisters, and the most brave and adventurous. Her gift from the fairies was a necklace that could transport her to anywhere that the sun shines!

New Art- Moonshine

I really should have been doing my accounts today... Oh well.
Here's the first of my winged unicorn sisters, Moonshine. She's the romantic dreamer of the three, the middle sister.
When I was seven, I always drew her with Flouro yellow hair and tail.... I decided against that colour scheme this time :)

New art- Light the Darkness

I was going to paint something else, but when I went to get my paper I found this artwork which had been sitting half done for ages. So I decided to finish it off first since it was a fun quick one. Three colour acrylic  "sketch" on canvas, something a bit different and fun...

What I was going to work on, before getting side tracked by this one, and am sketching up now is a set of winged unicorn ponies. I'm reliving my childhood you see... back when I was about seven, I think I was a little bit obsessed with My Little Pony. Anywho, I had these little pony characters I had created and wrota a bunch of stories about (I think I created them anyway, but they aren't exactly original, don't blame 7 year old me if I copied them from somewhere!). They were sisters, called Rainbow Wings, Sunset and Moonshine. They were given presents from the fairies that they used on their adventures. Sunset had a necklace that could take her (and her sisters!) anywhere the sun shone. Moonshine had a tiara that could answer any question, and Rainbow wings, the youngest, had golden horseshoes that could grant wishes.
The point is.... I'm painting them ^_^
These paintings are going to be nigh-disgustingly sickly sweet. I'm even painting a rainbow in one of them!! But it's what I'm in the mood for at the moment :) They are all sketched up and ready to go except a couple of flowers for Rainbow Wings. They are going to be SO DAMN CUTE!!!!

Titania

Phew, last one! Here's Titania. I'm just about to finish updating my website with these four up for sale as prints, and then later tonight I'm going to list all four of the originals of these up on ebay! I haven't auctioned anything for so long, I thought these would be fun to do an auction of. I'll be sending out notices from my mailing list about the auctions when they are on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/selinafenechupdates/

Second Fairy Queen

These are fun :)
Here's Gloriana-
Note to self- when doing uniform patterns, I should probably not just do them freehand... or they aren't really uniform... hrrm...

New painting

I've got this really big painting I've been picking at the sketch for on and off for a while now... it's intimidating me and I'm not sure what to do with the background... So I finally gave up and decided to do some quick and easy artworks instead until I feel up to it.
After wedding dress shopping and also the drooling over beautiful dresses in Prince Caspian on the weekend, I decided I wanted to do some pretty fairies in fancy dresses. Nice and simple like. I don't normally like dressing my fairies in ball gowns/formal dresses, so I decided they had better be fairy royalty... so I'm going to do a little series, with all the Fairy Queens I can think of. So I did Caelia today, she was fun, only took me half the day too which was nice. Then it will be Mab, Gloriana and Titania.

The Silver Sisters

The Silver Sisters
These are actually a couple of characters I have had floating around in my head for a while. I might end up painting and writing more about them. I even had a poem written about them, but for some reason since my last computer rebuild a heap of my text documents have become blank :( I hope I can get them back but haven't had the time to look into my backups and things yet.
All you really need to know about them so far, is despite their shining appearance these two have dark hearts. They are intended to be twins, but I didn't really start this artwork planning it to be these two, so only really started shaping it to be them after I'd done most of the faces, so er, yeah. They do kind of look the same?

Finally... some new art

I've been working on this one on and off for hrrm... maybe  a month or two? Mostly off... but anyway I finally got it finished.
This was an image I saw in a dream, with a girl in a black dress stepping off a building with a flock of birds trying to pull at the hems of her skirt. I'm not sure I quite got the movement and feeling I saw in my dream, but it sort of works.
Sort of a different work for me, since it's not really fantasy at all... but it's good to be different sometimes :) I am hankering for some fairy painting though after all the non fairy work lately...
Anyway, who cares, lets get to the art already!

More art...

After receiving some bad news (which I've yet to decide whether to make public or not), with all apologees to those waiting for orders to be shipped, I decided I just wanted to paint today.
So I did the third in the set of play on words toony fairy pics I've been playing with.
So this is "In Love". Not a great play on words, but I've been wanting to do a couple pic again for a while now. It wasn't until I decided to paint the guys shirt red did I realise I dressed him very much like one Ranma Saotome... not that he is bad inspiration at all (can we say cartoon crush?)

And bugger... it took me until now to realise I put the guys foot on back-to-front *head smack*... Maybe I can photoshop it better. * Edited, yay photoshop.

You may need to clickity on the "Link" link below to see the full thing since my layout seems to chop wide stuff.

Cute new painting

While I really didn't have the time (and should have been working on a commission instead, eck), I just felt the need to get a painting finished for myself, and to just paint something fun. So I finally got around to painting the next cute toony word play artwork that goes with "Little Bee OK"

It only took about 4 hours from inking to finished (with some So You Think You Can Dance included in there somewhere too), and I think she's turned out rather adorable. It's so nice to paint simple stuff sometimes, gives me some faith in my painting skills again (like maybe I get frustrated with all my other stuff cos I'm always challenging myself too much, lol!).

I think the word play here is pretty obvious!! I just thought of another one in the series to do tonight as well, and David chipped in a fourth, so hopefully I'll get them done soon and have a whole cute set!

Clockwork Heart

Hrm, well, I guess it's time to put this one down.
I had much grander plans for this idea than I managed here... but it'll do for now. I'll have to revisit it again later.

I have a plan!

My hand-stamped painting wasn't going so good... I persisted for a while, but it soon became very clear that the area that had red paint smudged all over then white trying to cover it up was never going to work out; it wasn't accepting paint over the top properly anymore.
But now I have worked out a plan to save it! What I'm doing, is scanning it in, and then printing it back out onto canvas, at a larger size too which will be nice since I was painting too small as usual. Ever since getting some inkjet canvas I've been thinking of trying this out for sketches, but this will be just as good of an experiment and hopefully save my painting!
Now I juat have to get some orders sent off so I can get back to painting!

New Boy Fairy!!

It's about time I did another boy fairy, so here he is, a knightly fairy along with his toad steed.
Watercolour and colour pencil...
Unable to think of title yet... I keep giggling too much over calling it "Mr Toads Wild Ride" and getting side-tracked.
ETA: Title has been decided! Thanks for the inspiration everyone!
